An early-stage cofounder of Advance, Robbie most recently built a top-performing quantitative hedge fund in Asia. He previously worked in AI at Google, Citadel, and Two Sigma, and obtained a PhD in electrical engineering from Stanford University, with specialization in AI.
Dennis Martin brings a wealth of experience, spanning 30 years in leadership roles within the global credit reporting industry. Prior to joining ADVANCE.AI, he served as the Group CEO of CTOS Digital in Malaysia, where he managed a comprehensive suite of credit and risk management solutions and services. His past roles include being the Managing Director at Experian Southeast Asia and Dun & Bradstreet New Zealand. Additionally, Dennis has contributed to the industry through his board memberships, including serving as the chairman of the CIBI in the Philippines.
Gao Chao has 15 years of experience in software engineering and management. Before joining Advance Intelligence Group, he held key technical management positions in companies at various stages in Southeast Asia, the United States, and China. He served as the CTO of Kredivo, founding CTO of Imprint, and Engineering Director at Grab. Gao Chao has a remarkable track record in leading startups from zero to one, building and leading multinational, diverse, and cross-functional teams, developing innovative and profitable products, and helping teams and businesses succeed in highly complex and uncertain environments. He has worked across multiple continents and in various fields, including gaming, e-commerce, food delivery, advertising, and logistics.
Andy Tan has close to 20 years experience in investment banking and fintech, with prior stints at UOB and Credit Suisse. In his current role as Atome Financial's Chief Commercial Officer, he oversees strategic commercial and funding partnerships. He is also building a financial product suite to enhance the financial journey of Atome's users. He graduated from The University of Chicago with a degree in Economics and has a Masters of Science from the Stanford GSB.
Jefferson was head of private investing for Greater China at Farallon Capital and Senior Analyst at Goldman Sachs where he executed IPO and M&A transactions for many Asian companies. He holds an MBA from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University.
Dong was previously Partner and Vice President of Engineering at Wecash, one of the leading fintech startups in China. Before Wecash, Dong worked as a senior engineer at Amazon Web Services and IBM. He holds master’s degrees in Computer Science from both Tsinghua University and Penn State University.
Chun was a Partner at Crystal Horse Investments, an angel investment firm in Singapore. He was previously a director at leading lending and invoice financing platform Capital Match and owned several internet businesses under depeach.com. He holds a PhD degree in Mathematics and Natural Sciences from Leiden University and a master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Technology Eindhoven.
David is a former professor with a PhD degree from the University of Washington and a master’s degree from Fudan University, both in Computer Science. He served as Chair Professor at Shanghai Jiaotong University and Tenured Associate Professor at Nanyang Technological University, where he specialised in algorithm design and analysis, optimisation and data analytics. He co-founded the Singapore consumer lifestyle app Nestia.
A serial entrepreneur, Tongtong founded two information service companies which provided banks and the insurance and telco industries with data and information services. Both companies became profitable within a year and were acquired. In 2015, she joined Advance Intelligence Group where she leads human resource management and Advance X.
Mi was Senior Vice President of Marketing and Events at the South China Morning Post. Before that, she was Global Head of Business Partnerships and Content Marketing at the Financial Times working in both New York and London. She holds a master’s degree in Journalism and Advertising from the University of Missouri and a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Communication University of China.
Lei is a veteran investment banker who has held roles in Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse across risk management, portfolio management, trading and transaction structuring. He has a wealth of transactional and risk management experience including IPOs, take-privates, M&As and structured financing. Prior to banking, Lei was a published academic in the field of accounting. He also co-founded the premier integrated HR management & payroll platform, ZipHR. Lei holds a Bachelor of Commerce (1st Class Honours) from the University of New South Wales.
Bernard previously worked in structured credit trading and commodities trading at Morgan Stanley in London and also served as Head of Business Development at Lion City Applied Science. He holds a master’s degree in Electrical and Financial Engineering from Stanford University.
Sherry is a qualified lawyer with over 12 years of experience in top tier international law firms and financial institutions. She was a banking and finance lawyer in Hong Kong for Herbert Smith Freehills and King & Wood Mallesons. One of the founding members of China Huarong International’s Hong Kong legal team, she holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Law from the University of Hong Kong.
Leon was General Manager of Weidian’s international business department and Product Manager of Qudian Group, which he helped list on the New York Stock Exchange. Prior to joining Advance Intelligence Group, he founded Beijing Yue Lai Technology Co. Ltd and served as Chief Executive Officer.
Prior to serving as Managing Director of DBS Consumer Banking Group in Indonesia, Wawan was Consumer Banking Director at HSBC. Before that, Wawan was Cards Marketing Director at Citibank for over seven years. He received a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Bandung Institute of Technology and an MBA from IPMI International Business School.
Richard served as Chief Operations Officer at PPmoney and Chief Risk and Strategy Officer at Qiancheng Tech. He spent 11 years in Canada with Capital One bank, heading data solutions. He holds a master’s degree from McGill University and a bachelor’s degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University, both in Computer Science. Richard is a CFA charterholder and certified PMP.
Trina started her career with Merrill Lynch Asset Management before moving to Coller Capital, a London-headquartered private equity firm. Trina also had stints working for Morgan Stanley and Lion City Capital, as Chief Investment Officer of the single-family office. Trina holds an MBA from INSEAD, a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics and is a CFA charterholder.
Fanglin was previously Associate Director of Video Analytics and Machine Learning at NCS Group and Chief Technology Officer at KAI Square. A Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore, he holds a PhD degree in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a master’s degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology.
Ryan has over 20 years of domestic and international risk management experience, focusing on the financial industry. He was previously Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of Lexin. Before that, he was the Private Banking General Manager ( Zhejiang Province ) of PingAn Bank, Executive Director of PingAn Trust and Head of Risk of Societe Generale Private Bank. During his tenure as the Chief Risk Officer, he successfully brought a start-up company to Nasdaq in 4 years. He holds an MSc in Informatics from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Applied Mathematics & Statistics from Zhejiang University.
Teng Sherng has over 28 years of experience in risk and compliance, cybersecurity, systems integration, business infrastructure and enterprise applications. Prior to ADVANCE.AI, Lim was Vice President, Asia Pacific, at LexisNexis Risk Solutions and Managing Director, Asia Pacific and Japan, at ThreatMetrix. Before that, he held senior management and leadership roles at CA Technologies, IBM, BT Security, Deloitte Consulting and Oracle. He holds a BBA(Honours) in Business Administration at the National University of Singapore Business School.
Ronald Andi Kasim, CFA, was previously Chairman of Credit Bureau Indonesia. He held key leadership positions including Country Director at Trusting Social, CEO at Pefindo Kredit Biro and Pefindo Credit Rating, and SVP at Bank Permata. He also served as Lead Analyst at Moody's Analytics. Ronald holds a Doctorate in Leadership & Policy Innovation from Universitas Gadjah Mada and earned his BSBA in Finance and MBA from Creighton University.
Meri Ui has held key leadership roles at organizations such as Bank Permata, where she served as the Senior Vice President and Credit Card Business Head, and Bank OCBC NISP, where she was the Senior Vice President and Unsecured Loan Division Head. Additionally, Meri has contributed her expertise as the Vice President of Card Business for Out-Region at Citibank. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Banking & Finance from the University of Technology Sydney.
